June 2018

Last year we were very lucky to have so many friends visit us over the summer! It was amazing! June was especially busy, so prepare for A LOT of pics (most of them courtesy of the friends, as my camera isn't very good.)

My parents left the day after my birthday, the 25th May, and a day or two later (I forget exactly when) we had two girls come to stay for a few days. One girl was a friend we'd made at work back in the UK, the previous winter, and the other was a friend of hers. So, we didn't know either of them very well but we had a fantastic time getting to know them better, showing them around and we made some great friends!

A day or two after the girls left a bigger group of our close friends arrived to stay for a week. We were six all together and we had a brilliant time with them - more relaxing in the sun, swimming and plenty of eating and drinking. One of the friends had visited us in our first year here, so it was great to show her around the progress we've made!

AND... not long after they left we were booked in for a trip to Greece. Some friends were holidaying in Northern Greece and we'd organised to meet them for a couple of nights in an Airbnb - we'd been meaning to drive down to Greece and this was the perfect excuse and opportunity for a holiday! Pete's dad and his wife kindly offered to house/pet sit for a week whilst we were away.

Outdoor film night

Here's a small veg interlude before we drive down to Greece for a week. I seem to have no photos of our lovely friends Joe and Alys, but we had a great couple of nights with them at an awesome BnB and then spent the other nights wild camping, in the back of our pick-up, on the beach. It was perfect!

Our last holiday night was spent in a motel in the Rhodope mountains (we got rained out of camping in Greece):

Back home and back to harvesting the abundant produce:

Aren't we lucky to have such great friends and be able to spend our time with them in glorious nature and sunshine!

Now, here's a glimpse of us getting back to work.... it may have been summer but there were radiators to hang!

Until next time!

  1. So glad to see you posting again. Your place is looking really good, I love the table with the mosaic edge. Are you still running your campsite?

    1. Thanks Janice! Actually the table didn't work so well as we kept scratching our elbows on the edge of the mosaic tiles!!!! No, sadly the campsite is closed at the moment (boring paperwork reasons) … hopefully we'll reopen one day in the future! :-)
